WHO WE ARE

Newton Studios is a small production company with the primary goal of creating high-quality, original content at a fraction of the cost of larger production studios. Our company was formed in 2002 as a media services boutique for local bands.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

As we grew up in Newton, MA and became more and more interested in art, music, and filmmaking, we all conceded it was time to realize our dreams of collaboration, to work together towards a goal. That was many years ago. In the time since, one of the most important things we learned was that when it comes to art or life, talking a good game isn't enough…

What happened during the 90's, anyway?

The Internet. The startup company. There was also the scary illusion being perpetrated on us and our friends that these 60-80 hour per week jobs were actually fun places to work. Casual dress, foozeball tables, and cappucino machines made that illusion possible. But the market crashed, and the mask was removed, and the ugly face of corporate America was ever more apparent. No more foozeball.

The dream of the impossible profits promised by Internet companies has faded, and we are left wandering the barren wasteland of mediocre opportunities, wondering what to do next. We ask ourselves: What was I thinking? What the hell am I doing drinking a Jolt Cola at 3am sucking in cathode rays and bathing in fluorescent lights in a cubicle in the back of some grey room with linoleum hallways? If I did make the million dollars, what would I be doing?

We took what we learned from corporate America, the good and the bad, and set about making a company that appealed to our sensibilities. We decided to create a company that used our creativity and these cool new technologies to make work easier, less expensive to produce, and more fun.

We are smart, responsible people who won't sell you a myth or promise a dream. And we like you. We really like you.
